At The Tiny Tassel, we love carrying some of our favorite local brands from some amazing vendors like Cassandra and Carlene from BR Design Co!

Recently we interviewed Cassandra from BR Design Co, a local Charleston company that makes polymer clay jewelry and accessories! Cassandra and her sister Carlene collaborate to create beautiful, unique & colorful handmade jewelry.

What’s the short story behind your business name?

Our company’s name is the combination of our names. Carlene Browner and Cassandra Browner Richardson. As sisters, it allows us to also recognize our mom Queenie Browner who taught us the art of clay jewelry making.

What’s the best way to start your day?

I try to start my day in meditation. I am not dedicated to physical exercise but I am about mental exercise. I try to relax and think about my day and then spend a few minutes in gratitude. It helps to visualize my to-do list.

What is your favorite local spot?

Rodney Scott BBQ! I grew up in Southwest Georgia and in a family of BBQ cooks. When I want that feeling, I head to Rodney Scott BBQ!
